Our name Kaleidoscope means ‘An Ever Changing Colourful Scene’ an excellent description of the fun, stimulating learning environment we provide for our small children.

About our Pre-School

Kaleidoscope Pre–School is the longest running childcare setting in the historic town of Petworth. Our purpose-built premises offers fantastic indoor and outdoor space for play and early years’ education for children between the ages of 2-5 years.

The pre-school is a registered charity and is supported by a management committee of parents and affiliate members.  It has strong links with the local community through the local primary schools and businesses.

Our aim is to:

  • Treat children in our care as individuals.
  • Provide a safe and caring environment.
  • Give children opportunities to learn and develop through play and planned activities.
  • Provide each child with a key person.
  • Encourage our families to partake in pre-school life.

Our Team

We have a fantastic team of practitioners who are dedicated to ensuring every child has the best start to their education.

Each child is assigned to a member of staff as their Key Person who will help the child to settle in at pre-school and is responsible for spending time with their key children, getting to know them, supporting their development and challenging them to excel in the things they love. The Key Person completes a baseline and settling report for each child as they settle into preschool life, then continues to observe them, document ‘wow moments’ and use their knowledge of the sector and their key children to help them flourish and prepare for school.  We meet with parents every half term to discuss progression, development and anything else necessary.
